Automotive lightweighting is an inevitable trend for energy conservation and emission reduction in an energy-scarce environment.

Automotive lightweighting is an inevitable trend for energy conservation and emission reduction in an energy-scarce environment. In order to meet the demand for lightweighting, researchers and steel plate manufacturers have developed higher-strength automotive steels; on the other hand, in order to meet the anti-corrosion requirements In demand, the surface of the steel plate is generally coated, such as galvanizing and aluminum plating. The continuous development of automotive steel also poses higher challenges to the joining process of materials. Laser welding is an efficient and high-quality welding method , Can realize the self-fusion welding of a variety of materials and surface conditions. Since the high-power fiber laser entered the market, its beam quality is stable, the generator is small in size, and the subsequent maintenance cost is low, and many other advantages have promoted laser welding in car body manufacturing. In this paper, fiber lasers are used to conduct experimental research on the tailor welding or lap welding of galvanized and aluminum-silicon coated steel sheets. This paper first studies the fiber laser tailored welding of galvanized steel sheets. For 1.5mm galvanized composite steel sheets (CR980T/700Y-MP-LCE) and 1.0mm galvanized low-alloy steel plate (420LA) for dissimilar metal laser tailor welding experiments, and a series of weld formation, metallographic structure, joint hardness, tensile strength and formability have been carried out. Test experiments. The results show that fiber laser tailored welding of cold-rolled duplex steel and low-alloy steel can obtain well-formed welds, and the galvanized layer will not adversely affect the quality of the welds. Tempering exists in the heat-affected zone of complex phase steels Softening zone, the width of the softening zone is most affected by the welding speed.
